About

I have a bunch of hobbies.  Reading is obviously one of them.  I am addicted.  I am addicted to serials.  PNR, YA, certain mysteries…  you name it.  I don’t read (much) other then fiction because reading is my chance to escape reality.  So, if you are looking for info on the latest Biography you won’t find it here.

This is really about the fact that I needed a place where I could brain-dump all the info about the serials I read/have read.  Wiki isn’t really helpful for lots of reasons (not least of all is the accuracy – or rather, lack thereof on a fairly regular basis) and goodreads, while helpful with reviews and stuff doesn’t give me the refresher I often need between installments.  ‘Cuz when you read as much as I do, sometimes you forget which particular event happened in which series to which character and sometimes, it’s important that you don’t forget.  So, here I am.

It’s going to take a little while to get up and running.  Need to balance work (uck!), karate, my little pugs (my babies) and all the other hobbies (scuba diving, photography, etc.).  But, hopefully, people will find this little blog helpful.  At least once it has some helpful information!

  1. Hi,

I think this a great concept for a blog and look forward to seeing how it develops. I’d love to follow you on Twitter if you are available there. Follow me @rainyofthedark and I’ll follow you back 🙂

I would also be interested in blog rolling with you. Information about that can be found here: http://www.rainyofthedark.com/blog-roll/how-to-blog-roll/

And last, my blog contains a growing collection of tips on running and promoting a blog. You might find some of the information useful http://www.rainyofthedark.com/

    Best luck!

    1. Sorry – no twitter. Frankly, I don’t get the need for twitter. Between FB and all the other stuff, including the ability to get feeds directly from blogs, don’t know why twitter is necessary… but feel free to follow the bog! Thanks. I hope others find the concept a good one!

  2. Great idea for a blog. I’m going to have to check out the books you’ve been following. I came across a series you might be interested in, in fact, I just did a review on it. It’s by MK Yarbrough – Shadow Keeper.

    1. I will take a look at the series you recommended! Thanks…. I am always looking for more good ones. Any series you follow that you don’t see here, but fits into the genres I follow, let me know! I would guess it’s just because I haven’t caught up to my book shelves yet. For example, I love Anne Bishop’s Black Jewels series and I was a Twilight fan, but they aren’t here because I just haven’t had the time to catch up on all that I have read already, before starting this blog. Hope you enjoy the posts! 🙂 And thanks for visiting!

  3. You sound as if you read pretty much along the same lines as me except I really love historical romances too. I love the idea I can look on your blog and jar my memory about some great series that I have read all the books that were published at the time and then my ADD brain forgets about them. This way I can get a refresh and pick the series back up. I am certainly going to follow you! Love your blog.

  4. It already has been. I might even find a few series that I have read that I think you might enjoy. I am an avid reader, now that both of my girls are in college I have lots of time to read and cuddle with my fur babies and sometimes my hubby.

  5. Have you read the Lynsay Sands vampire series. That is one I love and I love Kerrily. Sparks series too. I like funny and light paranormal series along with the darker ones.

    1. I read two of the Sands vampire series. Thought they were ok. If you like funny and light PNR series – the Vegas Vamps, by Erin McCarthy (I read them before I started this blog) were great. There are about 5 of them. Nicole Peeler’s Jane True is also great – they are categorized by most book stores as SciFi/Fantasy, but there are a few steamy scenes in a few of them and I love that series.

    1. It is mainly about Jane. But there is a cast of other characters that are very important too. And, over the course of the 5 book series her love life is important. It’s a little different from the Queen Betsy or the Real Vamps books – but I don’t want to say why because it will spoil book 1 and 2. But the author has a great sense of humor and I loved them!

  6. Can you create an index page of all the series you’ve read? This would make it easier to see if you’ve covered a certain series. I do love getting the lowdown on books and movies. I do love the female heroines being empowered to enjoy some fun steamy scenes as well, since I’d read classic Sci-fi since early childhood and just felt alienated by all the dude characters having their Male Fantasies fulfilled–but the gals were pretty much portrayed as less than human or robotic.

  7. Hello there! My name is Aya, and I am a fellow book blogger. I was wondering if you’d be interested in participating in a small project that I am doing. I wanted to ask a bunch of bloggers (49, to be exact :p), to give me one of their favorite book quotes. I’m going to compile them all in one post and then post it on my blog on the 22nd of this month. It’d be fantastic if you would be a part of this. Just let me know by this Sunday, please, so that I have plenty of time to compile and/or ask someone else. Thank you!
P.S. You are the 23rd blogger to be asked!
